Marc Gonzalez —USAW, CPT
Hello and welcome to Gonzo Strength! My name is Marc and I’m a strength and conditioning coach with over 10 years of experience in the health and fitness field. I am a native of Buffalo, NY, having moved to Portland in August 2020 to pursue my Masters of Acupuncture degree. I currently hold two degrees in Physical Education and Health Promotion: Health and Fitness.
Working in various roles throughout Western New York, I have had the opportunity to train a variety of clients with a wide spectrum of focus. I have worked with individuals on strength training and Olympic weightlifting, post-physical therapy training, cancer care patients and survivors, and high school and collegiate sport athletes. My experience includes 1-on-1 personal training, group training, and remote exercise programming. Every session focuses on improving my client’s physical and mental health through strength and conditioning.
I lead by example in my own strength training and nutritional habits by competing in the sport of Olympic weightlifting. Competing at the national level, I apply my experience and knowledge from the sport into any and all fitness environments to meet the needs and goals of my clients. When you come to a session with me, you can expect to learn how to better move and care for your body to improve strength, mobility, and conditioning. Not only will you get stronger and fitter, but you’ll have more energy and feel great in your day to day life too.
